WHAT IS THE HIGH FIVE CAMPAIGN?

In January 2018, Moves & Grooves partnered with First Tennessee Bank to kick-off our newest High Five Campaign. The purpose of the High Five Campaign is to rally together the community of Nashville to support our Southeast youth by ensuring every child has access to college and career exploration opportunities long after the school bell rings.

WHY:

For over 15 years, Moves & Grooves has served the Nashville community with pride. Offering innovative S.T.E.A.M. programs and dance training to over 300 youth participants in school, after-school, during the summer, inside community centers and even in public parks. With school overcrowding, most Metro School space typically used by afterschool clubs, are being occupied by new teachers. No access to quality after-school programs creates a challenge for working parents and students who depend on Moves & Grooves to keep them safe and out of trouble. With the rapid growth of real estate in "new Nashville," many working artists are challenged with finding an affordable place to live. In addition, the influx of youth and families moving into the Southeast community is also growing. An estimated 500 students will relocate to the Cane Ridge/Antioch area in 2018. Our goal is to raise $3 million in three years to build Nashville's first youth arts center with affordable housing for artists by the year 2021. A place, that will give these students a HOME to call their own and provide Nashville artists a live-work space to create.

HOW:
Supporting the Moves & Grooves High Five is EASY! Just sign up to be a High Five Sustaining Member, either ONLINE or via your mobile phone to give a minimum of $5, $25, $50 or $100 per month to help continue the Moves & Grooves youth programs that reach over 40,000 youth in Middle Tennessee. Or you may give a one-time contribution of $25 or more to ensure students are surrounded by caring educators, engaged in programming that teaches tangible skills which support success in school and life. This a small way our community can get involved to keep our neighborhoods safe and our children engaged in positive learning experiences every day.
