Ever come across those people who seem to know exactly what they
want to do with their life from day one? Check out Canadian rock
band Manic Drive and their premier release “Reason for Motion”
and you can honestly answer that you have. The album marks the 5th
release by founding Cavallo brothers Shawn and Michael.
Previously the Cavallo brothers gained much experience and respect
performing under their former name OneCross. They have recorded
and produced several projects, toured across North America, released
their single “Waste Away” to radio, won several music
awards and shared stages with some of the most respected names in
the industry before hitting the age of nineteen. Now with a new
name and a new album these boys are ready to hit the scene hard.
Manic Drive was discovered by producer/A&R rep Brian Hardin
during a performance at the club Rockettown downtown Nashville.
Deeply impressed by their performance he got them on board with
Whiplash Records. Now signed, the group is looking to get world
wide distribution and recognition. Manic Drive has a sound that
is tight and reflective of their decade of experience. All aspects
of modern rock are accounted for; catchy riffs, aggressive rhythms,
heavy tones lead by melodic vocals to inject traces of new hard-hitting
rock. While the market for such material is getting more and more
crowded, the band manages to borrow on current styles while keeping
it fresh.
The talent Manic Drive has been exposed to on a personal level
is simply incredible. The artists read like a who’s who and
who was who of modern Christian rock, including: Skillet, Pax 217,
Kutless, Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, Bleach, Project 86, Audio
Adrenaline, Relient K, Bleach and John Reuben.
While bands have come and gone, Manic Drive has already proven
a consistency not often seen in the industry. With 4 independent
albums released before most bands start dreaming about one, “Reason
for Motion” proves Manic Drive has entered the scene well
ahead of the game. “Reason for Motion” sees the band
coming of age and ready for the big time.
