James Anderson has been involved in construction for over sixteen years. He has owned his own construction company in the Franklin, Tennessee area since 1999 as a state licensed Commercial and Residential Contractor and state licensed electrician. As the owner of his own company, he gained valuable experience listening to his clients and bringing their ideas and building plans to reality. Most of his projects were designed, estimated, and constructed by him. These projects included residential, small commercial, and assembly occupancies in Middle Tennessee. Several of his projects were complicated historic church renovations that required extensive coordination between the church committees and the design team.
At The Conseco Group, Jim is a highly sought after Project Manager that specializes in highly detailed projects that require extensive client contact, coordination of the subcontractors, and attention to details. His knowledge of running his own construction company is invaluable and allows him to recognize issues before they become a problem. He is currently involved with the construction of a 21,000 square foot office building and the build out of a 6,000 square foot medical office for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also involved with the renovation and build out of several other tenant spaces in Nashville.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to becoming a contractor, he worked two years for the General Electric Company in their Technical Leadership Training Program. During this program, Jim managed production for lamp assembly plants and aided in the reconstruction of the Lexington Glass plant following a devastating fire. After the TLP program, he was trained as a Six-Sigma Black Belt for GE performing statistical analysis for quality control.
Jim lives in Franklin with his wife Kristin and their three children. He is currently on the Site Selection and Building Committee for his church, First United Methodist Church in Franklin.
