David is married to Marjorie Feltus Hawkins, a very successful interior designer, and lives in West Nashville.  He is currently president of the Kiwanis Club of Nashville and vice president of the Tennessee Architecture Foundation.  He has served on many civic boards in the past and is an Eagle Scout.  He and Marjorie are members of Belle Meade United Methodist Church.
