David A. Hawkins has extensive experience providing project management services for individuals and health care companies requiring building and program development services. David’s 28 years of architectural and planning experience in corporate and health care facilities include both new and renovation projects for tenant development, medical office buildings, hospitals, medical facilities, and corporate headquarters. He has served as senior project manager with bottom line accountability for the design of all types of commercial and medical projects with construction budgets of up to $200 million. He has assisted clients in establishing program requirements and design parameters to meet their business goals and coordinated multi-discipline teams to accomplish these major projects. He is a registered architect in the states of Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina, is NCARB certified, and holds a master degree in business administration from the Owens Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
David has provided project management and development services to LifeTrust America, Inc., a provider of assisted living services, developing 12 facilities in South Carolina. Most recently, he was in charge of the reopening, renovation, and expansion of a closed hospital facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The project included the renovation of all areas including the installation of the equipment infrastructure and medical equipment for the facility with an equipment and construction budget of $15,000,000. All work was completed within a year with the owner occupying areas as they were completed. David has also provided management services for Gaylord Entertainment on several projects related to the Grand Ole Opry House and the new Opry Mills retail development. Other health care clients include Ardent Health Services, Community Health Systems, Province Healthcare, Inc., HADC, and other companies and hospitals.
David has been senior project manager for several prominent Nashville architectural firms as well as the Director of Building Development for Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. His duties at Centennial included the coordination of the programming of the new center and resolving the spatial needs caused by combining the departments of the three separate facilities that were to make up the new Centennial Medical Center. He also served as an architect for the Vice Ministry of Urban Planning in Managua, Nicaragua, C.A.
David is married to Marjorie Feltus Hawkins, a very successful interior designer, and lives in West Nashville. He is currently president of the Kiwanis Club of Nashville and vice president of the Tennessee Architecture Foundation. He has served on many civic boards in the past and is an Eagle Scout. He and Marjorie are members of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. |
