Knockout
Fitness is the creation of Frank Wood. Frank has been active in
the sport of boxing since 1991, when he began his amateur career
through the United States Amateur Boxing Association. Trying to
find a way to maintain the rigorous training and competition schedule
of a boxer, Frank decided to open his own gym and offer his training
regiment to the public.
In 1995, Knockout Fitness was created. Knockout Fitness
had modest beginnings, starting in the basement of a rental house
with limited equipment. But the demand for Frank's workout grew,
as did his boxing career. In 1996 he turned professional and moved
his operation to a larger facility. Still active in the heavyweight/cruiserweight
division, Frank has traveled throughout the US and internationally
and holds a 20-3 record with 15
KO's.
Knockout Fitness has grown into a 3,000 square foot
fully equipped boxing gym in downtown Nashville. Some of boxing's
greats have trained at Knockout Fitness including Felix Trindad
and Oliver McCall.
Richard Goodloe joined Knockout Fitness in 2003
and works part time as a personal trainer and assistant to Frank
Wood. Richard has over 10 years of experience in fitness including
specialty training in boxing, kickboxing and Wing-Chun. This former
member of the United States Navy is also certified in reflexology
and related therapies.
